Tall Ship Boston
East Boston has one of the most unique city destinations: Tall Ship Boston. The 245-foot vessel was converted into a popular floating oyster bar. You can enjoy specialty cocktails, a raw bar, small bites, and more while taking in the beautiful city skyline. Open Wednesday through Sunday, you can walk in and enjoy or book a private lounge for up to 25 guests. Live music is typically offered throughout the summer on Thursday through Saturday evenings.

Santarpio’s Pizza
If you’re a pizza lover, then you’ve likely heard of Santarpio’s Pizza on Chelsea Street. The restaurant is known for making the Boston-style pizza famous, which has a thin, crispy crust. Founded in 1903 as a bakery, the pizza shop has a rich history of being one of the early restaurants created for Italians who had immigrated to the United States. The cash-only business is still family-owned and has made it onto the list for “Best Pizza Places in the US” by Food & Wine magazine. Grab a booth while visiting and order a pie to share with friends. The sausage and Italian cheese varieties are among customers’ favorites on the menu.
Downeast Cider House
The taproom at the Downeast Cider House is found right in the center of the famed company’s production center. The taproom has an average of 12 to 16 flavors on tap and offers a single flight per person when you visit. During the summer and fall, the facility has an outdoor pop-up garden to get full pours of all your favorites, such as Original Blend, Peach Mango, Strawberry, Drier Side, or Blackberry. Visit Thursday through Sunday and enjoy the shipyard views as you relax. Don’t forget your ID as you unwind for the day on one of the available Adirondack chairs.
Angela’s Café
If you’re looking for a hidden gem in East Boston, then Angela’s Café is a must while you’re in East Boston. As an authentic Mexican eatery, you’ll enjoy dishes created in Puebla by the family’s ancestors. Poblana cuisine features strong, rich sauces known as moles. The restaurant specializes in Mole Poblano, Adobo, Cochinita Pibil, and Chiles en Nogada. The East Boston locations are found in the Eagle Hill and Orient Heights neighborhoods and have gained a cult following since opening in 2007. Come hungry at any time of the day. The eatery even serves Mexican breakfast favorites until 3 pm daily.
The Quiet Few
The Quiet Few is a no-frills pub on Sumner Street. One of the favorite features of this laid-back bar is that it’s open late daily—come have a drink until closing at 1 am. The whiskey menu is one of the most extensive in the state, and you can pair your favorite beverage with classic pub fare. Menu favorites include Disco Poutine Fries, Frito Pie, Eastie Dog, and City Wok Grilled Cheese.

Eastie Love
Formerly called East Boston Open Market, Eastie Love started as a pop-up shop in 2016 and has grown into an extensive showcase for local artisans, specialty food vendors, and vintage art dealers. On the weekends, you can browse the selection of homemade candles or grab a bowl of chowder from one of the food trucks on site. The market supports local crafters and helps introduce customers to exclusive products that can’t be found elsewhere.
Carmella’s Market
Found on Cottage Street, Carmella’s Market is an Italian market originally opened in the 1920s. You can purchase a variety of subs, salads, breakfast sandwiches, and charcuterie platters. The market is most well-known for its world-famous stuffed cherry peppers. The cherry peppers come stuffed with imported salami, provolone, ham, and prosciutto. If you love the cherry peppers, but live outside of the area, you can even buy them online and get a jar shipped to your door.

East Boston Farmer’s Market
You can attend the East Boston Farmer’s Market at Central Square Park every Wednesday from July to October. From 3 pm to 6 pm, vendors will be available with delicious and healthy food options. Support farmers who offer sustainably grown produce, meat, and eggs at affordable prices. There is also entertainment for the whole family as you browse the stands, including musical acts and kid activities.
